Skillometer is an Application Service Provider (ASP) that provides
web-based, IT skills testing to companies and Information Technology
(IT) professionals in leading-edge and current Information Technologies.
We offer a full range of capabilities including skills test
assignment, execution, and monitoring and reporting. We also
offer these capabilities for seamless integration into end-user
computing environments and Internet companies whose products
and services require a skills testing component.
In order to address global requirements, Skillometer was designed
to support multiple languages and user interfaces. Our software
addresses various communication infrastructures and delivers
skills testing in various national languages.
An Advisory Board was established to provide guidance for the
test development process, test validation, and scoring. Members
of the Advisory Board are educators from several universities.
Our test development follows documented procedures that emphasize
objective and item development, standardized test validation,
and adaptive testing.
Skillometer's initial launch consists of 24 leading-edge IT
tests and is supported by application rich functionality for
assigning and managing IT skills testing. Our second round of
tests are in development and will add 20 more tests after our
launch in early 2001. Skillometer is located in Pittsburgh,
PA, and is privately held.
